Event formatThe 45-minute swim sessions across all 7 lanes of the pool are split into Fun and Competitive sections: The Fun sessions, are for swimmers of all ages and abilities, from mum & bubs to grandparents and all ages in-between, and start on the hour at 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm.
The Competitive team sessions start at 12 noon and 1pm and are open to serious competition for the Basil Blackham Memorial Challenge Cup, which will be awarded to the team swimming the most lengths in 45 minutes (target 200+ lengths) In both sections, teams of 6 are split into 3 at each end of the pool, then each swimmer takes turns, relay style, to swim. This makes Fun sessions really easy for everyone and the Competitive sessions really fast! Both are great spectator opportunities and friends and family should come along and cheer their swimmers. Drinking WaterTo eliminate plastic waste, drinking water will NOT be provided and ALL swimmers must bring their own drinking water in a reusable container. There is a drinking water refilling station at the pool.
